The babies were at the crib, while I was strapped to an infant to my back. Ha! It was all starting to form, but we weren't anywhere near finished. For this project I had planned to spend a considerable amount of money and time looking for my dream house. For my budget to remain sound, I travelled with my three boys in search for bargains at estate sales. Our routine was to visit garage sales and auctions on Sundays and Saturdays, and buy a variety of old pieces and new constructed. My work days were spent in the driveway working on painting or sanding. The look was similar to it... This was where my passion for restoring furniture began. Although our house was fully furnished, I could not put down. I had a stand at the local market and also sold items there. Then, I ran out of numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the available space. The house became a venue that I hosted open houses, where up to 1,000 people could view the items on my first floor and purchase the items. Growing Days was created in this home. Growing Days was not only an extremely successful company, it was as well my family. I was finding that balance of what it was like starting a business while also being a mommy. Growing Days was the obvious decision. In 2013, my sweet daughter Nora came along our 4th baby. My business was going well but I wanted a rest. I took some time away from vintage furniture to spend some quality time with my kids. This was just what I needed. After a while, off the phone started to call. They were asking for assistance with interior decorating and renovations. The majority of them had been to my home during open houses for furniture. It didn't seem long until I managed a large-scale business for home improvement. The first step was to take clients one by one at a pace that I felt at ease with. If you had said to me that this company of mine would turn into the basis of a television show on DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. Indeed, I am laughing slightly when I recall the episode.
